  • Can I stream particles from a partial mask?

Posted by Mark Landsburger on July 10, 2005 at 9:24 pm

    Hi all,

I’m trying to figure out how I can have particles stream from a long line, but I can’t seem to work it out. I have Particular, but I can only seem to have the birth point be a single point and not attach it to a drawn line (for instance).

    Suggestions? Can it be done?

    Thanks a bunch,
    LB

Draw the mask on a solid, then apply effect>render stroke, using “on transparent” as the paint style. Precompose this layer, selecting “move all attributes”.
Next, apply Particular to a solid. With the emitter type as “layer”, use the above precomp (the stroke)as the emitter.
