  High Quality DVD Slideshows

  So…if DVD only supports 720×480, how can I render and burn a DVD slideshow if my timeline is 1920×1080?

  Most TV’s are much higher resolution than 720×480, obviously. And my first test burn looked terrible scaled up on a flat panel TV. Obviously that won’t work.

  I created the slideshow using very high-res Photoshop files in a 1920×1080 timeline sequence. But this is scaled way down in Roxio Toast, resulting in a useless presentation for large TV’s.

  (I’m a little out of practice in terms of authoring DVD’s – all my work goes on the web these days.)

  DVD is a specification, and that spec is for standard-definition video only (720×480). If you want HD video on a disc, then you would make a Blu-ray disc instead.

  Perhaps a better option – export an HD file using H.264, resulting in an .mp4 file. Save to a USB thumb drive stick. Plug USB stick directly into TV. Play HD video. Some Blu-ray and DVD players also now have USB ports, same thing, plug and play with stick.
