  • Can I burn my video as mp4 file directly in DVD Architect

Posted by Nina Cudjoe on October 4, 2015 at 7:10 am

I have made my video with DVD Architect 3, and also burned it to DVD. I would now like to put this on my iPad, and I wonder if there is a way to generate an mp4 file direct or do I have to convert from the DVD I burned?
    Greatful for some input.
    Regards,
    Nina

    Hi Nina,

I’m assuming you are editing with Sony Vegas? From your Vegas project, just export to .mp4 using an appropriate preset. Haven’t used Vegas in some years, so can’t be more specific, but you do not need to involve the DVD. It is already highly compressed, and it is SD while you will want HD quality for the iPad, right?

So, export the original project again, this time for the iPad.

    Thanks

Thanks for your reply, Jeff. Yes, I use Vegas and yes, I had thought of exporting the project directly from there to .mp4 at first, but in that case I’ll get only the actual main video. In Architect I had also added a selectable menu and an additional small video. I had hoped there was an easy way to get the whole “caboodle” on the iPad as one file, but perhaps I have to be content with loading the two videos separately.
Thank you again for your response.

    Hi Nina,

So you were asking if you can keep the DVD menu structure on the iPad, using an .mp4 and unfortunately, not possible.

    Thanks

    I realize that now.
    Thanks a lot again, Jeff.
