MPEG2 encoding

September 6, 2011 at 10:18 pmsource is HIDEF pal mov so progressive and i want to encode to SD NTSC MPEG2,
i’m using interlace and top field for the mpeg and encoding at around 7k

September 7, 2011 at 6:33 amoriginal fottage is progressive so no field, but the MPEG should be interlace, top field, right?

September 7, 2011 at 6:27 pmI don’t know your encoder specifically but MPEG2 encodes can indeed be progressive- as are generally any Hollywood DVD originated on film or 24p digital.
