  DVD Studio Pro: “incompatible format”

  ok, so some progress has been made,

  I exported using “current settings” for a .mov file, then brought into compressor, and made a custome setting (H264)— did I see DVD SP doesn’t support this? The image quality of the resulting file looks good, but it says its a quicktime movie, and DVD SP still says “imcompatible format”— from what I can tell, DVD SP seems to like m2v files, but every time I make one, the image quality drops radically. Is there away to make a m2v file with more sharpness?

  Nope- DVDs are only MPEG-2. This is in your manual.

  H264 should NEVER be in the DVD workflow, NEVER!.

  I’m not a bitvice fan, while it does a good job, it seems like I run into pixelation problems a lot more then with compressor.

  I would keep this simple.

  From FCP, send the sequence to Compressor (Send to Compressor command)
  Start with any DVD Prest
  In the Encoder Button
  In Video Format
  Frame Rate: <29.97>
  Aspect <16:9>
  Field Dominance: Upper

  In Quality Tab – change the encoding method to CBR and
  Bit rate to 7.5

  In the Frame Control Button
  Frame Control
  Resize Filter:

  Encode the audio to ac3.
