Why is iDVD taking 2 hours on 9 min video???
Hello people..
I have a .mov file thats under 9 mins @ 135mb.. I don’t understand why it is taking so long to burn. I did a quick dvd from movie file option but I feel like this is way too long for such a small clip. Please, any input would be much appreciated! Thanks.

What is the source? Are you making HD into SD, are you converting from PAL to NTSC?

The source was a DVD of an event that I ripped off individual chapters for a client. I used handbrake to rip them into mp4’s. I then used quick time to save as .mov files. For some reason they wont import into FCP?
They are NTSC and I’m not changing that. And they are not HD.
Any help would be much appreciated.

That’s your problem right there- not a suitable input format. FCP doesn’t like MP4s because they are obviously ripped material. Convert to NTSC ProRes before you edit and you’ll have a lot shorter encode. Also switch to DVDSP , iDVD is a toy you shouldn’t be using if you have FCP.
