  • Embedding subtitles to MPEG2 / M2V ?

I have just made a MPEG2 multiplexed 720p stream for digital screening on a festival. The master sequence is actually a 2K tiff sequence.
The festival needs subtitles embedded in this film.

I am using Belle Nuit and the subtitles have been made already according to the time code. What software can I use to add subtitles to this MPEG2 stream without having to re-encode everything again. What subtitle format do you recommend? is this even possible at all?

or should i add the subtitles to the m2v file and then mux everything once again? what subtitle format should i use for this and which software allows me to do this?

so my final destination is not a DVD, but a multiplexed file as mentioned above to be played and projected from a media server in a cinema.

I am asking the same questions…

Also, I have a question about Belle Nuit. If you create subtitles with it, does it allow you to export a QT file or a MPEG-2 with the subtitle info embedded?
