Activity Forums Adobe After Effects 2d Motion Tracking Question

I have been working on a scene where a 3X5 card was painted chroma green and needs to be keyed out. I need to add a still over it to make it look like a real photo.

There is a motion pan down over the picture, and I need the picture to stay in the same place. I am familiar Motion Tracking in AE but the tracking point goes off screen. Is there a way to keep my still within the parameters of the chroma color, even with the camera pan?

I am familiar with Mocha but cannot purchase it at this time because of the budget I am working with. Is there a way to achieve the same effects in AE?

Thanks to anyone in advance, I appreciate the feedback.

Not having seen your footage, it’s hard to give good advice. Posting it would help. However, this is in theory what would work:
1- when the card goes off screen, pick up the track on another point that is close and stays in the shot for the rest of it.
2- track a different object that is in the same plane as the card and stays in the frame all the time.
Of course you need a 2 point track.

super simple, hold Alt and drag the motion tracker to a new trackable spot.
