3D Animated Triangle (or arrowhead?)
Hello
I’m a final year media student and I have to animate a logo which would be easy as pie… except I can’t figure out how to create a 3D triangle! (if only CCtriangle existed!!)This is what the logo looks like..

I must make the logo rise out of thin air on its side (I’ll probably just use a mask) and then I will spin it so it is facing the same way as in the google doc picture.
One more limitation, I have CS3 not CS4.. sigh.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you’ll need to construct it like you would a cube, with solids being the faces, and each being turned and positioned to create the tetrahedron-like primitive.
of course the solids will need to have triangular masks (or be triangular shape layers), and your angles and positions will be harder to figure out.
you might try using paper/cardboard cutouts to figure out how to construct it. the process will be similar in ae (minus the tape and scissors).
it will be tricky… if you haven’t already, look for a tutorial for creating a cube, the process will be similar (maybe there’s one for creating a tetrahedron).

You can create primitive shapes easily with scripts from this site:
https://www.nabscripts.com/downloads_en.html
If you use the create pyramid script it should yield the 3D triangle you need.
