Office guy showed me a Chinese knock-off of a Go Pro Hero he picked up online for around a third the price of the legitimate ones. I found it impossible to tell a difference between the copy and a real GoPro; it had the same case, same kind of clip-on LCD panel, same accessories. Just missing the name.

That must be frustrating to the real GoPro guys.

Yeah but is the GoPro really that expensive that folks want a cheapo Chinese knockoff with zero post support no warranty- etc. I’m guessing that most folks can tell the difference and pay for it.

When they are “crash cameras” you expect to get trashed, I imagine it’s tempting to get three for the price of one. Long as they actually WORK, more is better with multiple cams. The casual skateboarder with low income probably would be attracted as well.

Hehe- but do you really want to tell the person who ‘crashed’ that you didn’t get the shot because you wanted to save a few bucks with a cheapo Chinese Go-Pro knock off. So please risk your life again? I don’t…
