  Setting up a small studio – chroma key paint or material?

  We’ve been given a fairly roomy budget to set up a small studio (10ft x 12ft x 8ft-high) solely for interviews.

  We have all the camera equipment but I need some advice on lighting and the best form of chroma key.

  The current plan is to go with the speciality green paint – would you agree that’s the best option if we get the lighting right? Are there any advantages of installing a soft material green screen instead?

  Not having any experience with studio lights, are there certain features I should look out for/avoid?

  All advice is greatly appreciated,

  That’s a very small room to be able to light the screen separate from the talent, and still have room to move a camera around and play with framing and depth of field. Unless all you ever do is head and shoulder sitting behind a desk. This may be one of those cases where the more expensive chroma ring setup, with the retro-reflective bead cloth backdrop, is a better choice.
