  • Inaccurate audio scrubbing in CS5

Posted by Jurjen Versteeg on July 19, 2010 at 9:15 am

Are there any familiar problems with audio scrubbing in CS5?
I opened up a CS4 project in CS5 and when scrubbing through the audio, it gives inaccurate feedback. For example: Scrubbing from 00:17:00 – 00:20:00, will give me the audio from 00:00:00 – 00:03:00

Both my project and source audio are set to 48,000 kHz.

Anyone an idea how to solve this, or just an CS5 bug?

    Thanks in advance

Update: It is more worse then I thought. It’s not only the scrubbing, but every time I make a RAM Preview/Move a layer/Make an action, the audio is misplaced and the waveform is inaccurate as well. What to do?

What format is your audio in? If it’s mp3 convert that to wave or aiff.

    It’s an AIF file

Strange. Try posting this on the Adobe forums as well.

I’m now working with a WAVE file, which fixes the problem for now.
Strange that AIF files won’t work in After Effects properly.

Dave, thanks for your response. It’s good to hear that Adobe is working on a fix for this problem.
Luckily I discovered the WAVE-solution myself on time…
