I’m trying to create a project in After Effects, however, I’ve noticed that my text has a long vertical line (from the top line of text to the bottom line of text) down the right hand side of it. I preview the project and this line is visible and flickers throughout the duration. Is this a common problem and how do I solve it? Obviously I don’t want such artifacts in my final production.

    Thanks

This might be a problem with the font. Your font might contain illegal characters or is damaged in another way so AE can’t use it properly. Other than that I can’t think of a thing that would explain yor problem.

I’m just using Arial. Is there a list of fonts and colours, etc that are ‘safe’? I saw it mentioned in another post here but couldn’t find anything. I’ve noticed the same flickering lines with images as well. It seems to be the outer edge of the image (on logos with transparent backgrounds, etc), ie the full canvas in photoshop, etc.

Mmh, then it’s perhaps just a problem with your graphics hardware? Arial really should be idiot-proof. I’ve only had troubles with more exotic stuff… Sorry I can’t be of more use.
