  ‘Go to previous edit’ activates trimming tool

  Hello Everyone,
  I’m working on Avid MC 8.4.5 and want to use the GO TO PREVIOUS/NEXT EDIT shortcut, it works but in a very strange way, it activates the trimming tool, so every time I want to jump to a cut, first I have to deactivate trimming tool. Do you have any idea why this happens and how can I have it to work properly?

  There’s different GoTo’s in MC. In the current versions of the software, they are quite easily distinguished if you open the Move tab in the Command Palette.

  The Pink ones take you to the previous or next TRIM, the Green ones take you to the previous or next CUT, the Red ones take you to the previous or next MARKER.

  Looks like your settings use the Pink one.

  You want to use the FF and RW options…they are the double triangles that point left and right in the PROGRAM monitor toolset. In Avid 2018.x, they renamed that (and changed the icon) to GO TO NEXT EVENT
