Going to be receiving countless hours of footage from an offsite producer for a documentary. What’s the best method to allow them to roughly log the footage? Am I able to export a tabbed file of the bin with thumbnails for them to log, then re-import into MC?

Get them to download a free 30 day version of Avid.

You can certainly import tab delimited lists into Avid…at least we used to do that years ago. I don’t think an exported list could have a thumbnail…it is usually just a text list, but I’ve never tried.

Sounds like a lot more work than using a free version of Avid.
Can Avid free bins be opened in regular Avid?

How is the producer planning on looking at the footage in the first place?

I’ll have to look into it more.

The producer currently has a thumbnail and metadata list from shotputpro.
