  • Retaining Audio After Transcoding Footage

    Hello,

I’m importing my footage via the ” file > input > source browser > import ” method. It’s AVCHD footage and I’ve been transcoding to DNxHD 36. The footage imports and transcodes but the resulting files do not have the scratch audio that I like to use for my workflow. Is there a way of transcoding the footage while retaining the in-camera audio from the original clip?

    Using:
    Media Composer 8.6.1
1080p AVCHD footage from the A7sii
Late 2013 Mac Pro OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

Are you selecting the audio check boxes at the bottom as well when you transcode? They are unchecked by default.
