Placement of studio logo in sequence – tail or head?
Hi all,
What people do people do in terms of placing the production company/studio logo animation clip that appears before the feature? Are there conventions in terms of TC and where it occurs in the sequence?
We are doing at least two version of the film- one for TV without the studio animation preceding it and one for cinemas that will have the studio animation preceding it.
My initial thoughts are just to have the first frame of the animation on 10:00:00:00 as if put at the tail it might be ignored.
Or would it be better just to leave the first frame of the film proper on 10:00:00:00 and leave the logo to be added in once the grade and the sound etc are done?Any advice or thoughts?

Usually those things are part of the delivery spec – do you have one of those yet?

We have a diverse array of conflicting delivery specs.
I’m thinking the safest might be to stick to the film proper, with no studio logo animation until everything is done – the graphics and the grading come back and then to only add it in before final delivery, in accordance with each specific delivery spec… :/

I would agree if eventually delivering to different channels. Keeping FFOP (first frame of picture) to 01:00:00:00 is your best bet for now.

The downside being it is not part of your mix. Might be difficult when the idents are mixed insanely loud (they usually are) and also if your mix needs to be compliant with loudness standards like A/85 or R128.
