  AMA doesn’t work

  I have been using AMA linking to footage from my EX1 camera for years — using a Mac and Media Composer 4.5.

  However, on a new system I just bought — also a Mac, but now using MC 5.0, whenever I try to AMA link to the EX1 footage, I get a message that it cannot link. And once, I even got an offer to get an AMA plug in, saying that my software did not have linking capabilities!

  What gives!? And What to do?

  Download the latest AMA plugin for Sony XDCAM.

  Avid doesn’t come with the plugins preinstalled. It has the door to do it, but the keys are provided by the camera makers. You need to get the right key.
