  Relink to ProRes4444 and compression artifacts on export.

  I have a picture lock and the .aaf and ProRes 4444 files are off to the grader who for various reasons is not going to make a new deadline the director now has for a funding application on a new film.

  I have assisted by doing a quick basic grade in media Composer 8 and I am now ready to export and hand it off to the director.

  However on relink and export I am seeing some compression artifacts in the background of some scenes and the fades in and out. I initially transcoded the ProRes4444 from the hard drive I was sent into Avid and then synced audio. I think the issue may be the DNxHD proxy files are being relinked by Avids media manager and not the original material I want to relink to encode a finished HD QuickTime.

  Can anyone offer any help?

  When I brought the footbaw into Avid I created new clips with synced audio. It is these that were used to edit. Is this where my problem lies?
