  AVID slow to respond / stuttering

  Hi All

  Has anyone run across this problem before. I’m working in a project with relatively few bins, little effects and a couple of 60″ timelines.

  Opening or closing a bin, gives me a pinwheel for 5/6 seconds before it responds. Same thing when scrubbing through the timeline or hitting space to playback.

  I’ve not tried much to fix it yet so we can start from the very beginning.

  Running AVID 6.4, on:

  Is this a new system for you, or do you do this all the time, and today it decided not to work?

  If it is having trouble playing your footage, some info about your footage may be helpful.

  What is your drive configuration, footage type, project type, compression you are working at.

  (sounds like your drives can’t keep up with what you are asking them to do)

  I’m pretty new to the company, this is a relatively old project.

  Poking around though I think you might be right. They’ve been off lining at DNX120 through a G-Speed 16tb using a F/W 800 cable.
