  Audio from Lav Low

  When I import or AMA footage that was shot with our Audio Technica AT8357 lav mics, it comes in really low and distorted. It’s definitely a problem with Avid because by process of elimination I know it’s not the mic, camera, or computer (tried multiple of each), the original source file plays fine in Quicktime and VLC, it imports fine into FCP 7, and footage shot with the on board mic and a different lav mic comes in fine. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

  Avid doesn’t change levels when capturing or importing or linking. So something else is wrong. Could be a phase shift or phase inversion when playing back in mono?
