Is it me or is anybody else think that AE CS4 is swifter around the general interface than AE CS5. AE CS5 lags while loading the preference menu or selecting the stopwatch icons on rotobrush and when applying some other general effects, I’m finding it sluggish when compared to my old mate AE CS4.

Both have adaptive resolution and open GL off
    Both have multiprocessor turned on

    CS4 memory usage 6.3GB
    Other applications 1.7GB

    Minimium allocation per CPU 2GB
    Foreground memory usage 1GB
Background memory usage 2.65GB per CPU
    (4 CPU cores)
Disc cached enabled 9GB on separate drive

    CS5 memory usage 6.5GB
Other applications 1.5GB (some reason will not go lower)
RAM allocation 1.5GB per background CPU
Disc cached enabled 2GB on separate drive

I have reinstalled, defragged both drives. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Cheers Dave but I already had one free CPU from other processes. Bah Humbug!

Thanks Dave, I’ve got 4 CPU cores with 8GB of ram, I’ll have a tinker about.

Yes Dave if only my motherboard could accept an additional 32GB ram I’d be a happy man – but I’ll put up with it and it could be worse, I’ve read in some forums people using 4GB of memory with AE CS4 while working with HD footage, onch! that must hurt in rendering time – better buy a portable hammock in this case LOL
