  Avid DnxHD not compatible with Yosemite OSX 10.10 yet ?

  I recently updated my iMac 27″ to the new Mac OSX ‘Yosemite’, and my Avid DnxHD files have since gone nuts. I can’t preview them with finder, when played in VLC or imported into Premiere, the colours and detail look more compressed than ever.

  On my laptop, which is still Mavericks 10.9, the exact same Avid DnxHD files work and look fine.

  I’m using mpeg streamclip to convert 5D mark III h.264 footage to edit in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, it’s always worked in the past!

  Whats going on?

  Apple is changing the way “preview”works when playing back. In 10.9 it tries to transcode any non h.264 or ProRes file. Once of the reasons I am still on 10.8.5.
