  GoPro 4k footage into Avid MC 6.5.2

  Hello! I received some footage that was shot on a GoPro 4(?) and it’s 4k. The go pro was on a drone so they shot 4k so we could crop out the rotors. Problem is I’m having trouble bringing in the footage as it’s original resolution. I’ve read that for MC 7 you bring it in via AMA, make your regions of interests etc, and then do a mixdown. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to me that MC 6.5 doesn’t have Frame Flex. Is there a way to remedy this?

  Avid MC 6.5 can’t do this. As you noted…no FRAME FLEX. So you can’t AMA and resize and mix down. You’ll have to either upgrade to MC7 or 8…or use outside software, like After Effects, Premiere Pro…
