  Tape names – Davinci Resolve, Avid workflow

  Hi,

  I’m rendering rushes from Alexa prores files to MXF DNxHD36. I made a mistake by NOT selecting “Assist using reel names from the: source clip file name” function in Resolve. Now I have 8 days of wrong rendered media. Is there any solution that I can render all the clips the right way in resolve and relink them to the clips in Avid MC 7.0? I’ve rendered two clips the right way and tried to relink them to the offline clips in Avid but without any succes.

  Maybe another solution would be to unlink the clips give them the right tape name… But when I relink the file the Tape name disappears.

  Help would be really appreciated.

  Hi,

  Just resolved 😉 the problem. Render the clips in Davinci Resolve again with the function the “Assist using reel names from the: source clip file name” on. Unlink the clips in Avid MC give them the right tape name (by using modify). And relink the clip.

  It’s very time consuming so if there is anyone out there who has a better idea please let me know.
