  Capturing tapes from a Sony HVR M25U deck into MC7 for Mac.

  I am currently capturing HDV 1080i tapes into a project I’ve been working on in MC7. I have been using the camera up until this point, which has been working fine – though I am nervous about wear and tear.

  I recently got my hands on a Sony HVR-m25u deck and connected it to my Mac via a 4-pin to 9-pin firewire cord. The new Macs are limited to only thunderbolt connection, so I am running the 9pin through thunderbolt adapter into the computer. I was able to have MC recognize the camera I was digitizing from but when I try and get it to recognize the new deck it says no input signal.

  Has anyone had any experience connecting these older HDV decks to the new apple computers? If so, what is the proper configuration?
