  • Unable to Relink Audio .wav files in Avid MC7

Posted by Denise Chan on November 10, 2013 at 9:28 pm

Can anyone please advise? I just migrated an FCP7 timeline into MC7 via automatic duck 4.0.5

All my clips came in offline, as expected.

I managed to first AMA LINK all the clips on my drive, and then I was able to RELINK the SOURCE clips brought in by the AAF created by Automatic Duck. However, none of the .wav files relinked – regardless of what check box combination I used in the RELINK pop-up window. Is this a TC or framerate issue, or bug? Anyone?

    Thanks!

Are you using “relink to selected” when doing the relink process?

    Hey Michael,

Thanks for your response! I did not use “relink to selected”. I just did the generic “RELINK”.

I was going to try out your suggestion, however when I reopened my project, a new problem has presented itself. On opening the project, Avid is having trouble locating and relinking to the AMA clips. It’s just trying to scan and index the same thing all the time until it fails.

Attached are the images of what it’s doing before it fails. Any advice?

    Thanks!
    Denise

I’m sharing a project with another editor. All the video clips live in a folder and the audio clips in another. We are AMA linking to them.

I can relink to the video clips just fine. But the .wav files do not relink.

    Can anyone please advise?

Are you sure he AMA linked the audio? Try batch importing them.

Michael, thanks for the suggestion. I just tried to batch import the .wav files. I got a message:

“Batch import Clips/Sequences not allowed. No clips to import”.

So, I believe the .wav files were originally AMA linked…

This project is a lot of interview footage. There are always two cameras going at the same time. Now, there are many synced sequences that were synced using pluraleyes. There was also a lav and a boom mic that recorded the audio separately. These .wav files were placed underneath the camera audio.

For some reason I’m still not able to relink to these .wav files. That option is greyed out. Super frustrating.

    Any more thoughts are welcomed.

    I’m having the same issue!

The .wav is AMA-linked and the option”relink to AMA” is greyed out.

    Does anyone know??

Relinking in Avid is always a difficult process….
