  • How to slide all clips in selected tracks along in a timeline like in Premiere?

In premiere, there’s a tool that will let you select a point on the timeline and move the tool forward or back which will cause all of the clips in the track you are on to move to where you push them, or alternately you can hold in shift while doing so and all tracks not locked, and which are ahead of the point you clicked on will move. Is there anything like this in Avid?

Have you tried the yellow splice insert arrow?

turn off sync lock, select a clip and slide it forward. Everything after it will slide forward as well.

turn on sync lock, select a clip and slide it forward (or backward). Everything after it (on a track with sync lock turn on) will slide forward (or backward) as well.

NO no no…you use the SELECT ALL RIGHT tool. If you use the Yellow SELECT tool, it’ll grab only what you click on, or you’ll have to lasso all your clips in order to select them all.

To do what you want, that matches what PREMIERE and FCP does, first highlight all your track selectors, then click on the SELECT ALL RIGHT tool.
