  Relinking

  Sorry if this is a really obvious question but… if you’ve transcoded some files into avid via ama, cut something (teeny tiny – about 1 minute) but then realise you’ve transcoded to the wrong format, what’s the best way to relink your sequence to the correct media once you’ve re-transcoded it?

  Decompose the sequence (or sub-sequence if it’s just part of it), then relink the empty decomposed sequence. In the relink options, you’ll be able to select a specific format. I tend to get better success with relinking when I’ve decomposed first.
