  • Boosting audio levels past +12dB in MC7

I need to boost audio levels past +12dB. Can anyone tell me where I can locate the audio suite so I can increase gain to my audio. I thought it was in the Audio Mixer but I cannot seem to find it.

Also, can anyone provide a workflow for cleaning audio in MC7? I’m looking for a MC7 to Audition workflow.

    Thanks.

AudioSuite is in the Tools menu. It’s a little window that works like an effects mode for audio clips. There’s a drop-down menu where you can choose the “gain” effect. It takes a render.

Can Audition take .AAF or .OMFs?

    Thanks for the tip.

    Audition will import .OMF-fomatted files.

You can also add Automation gain (audio keyframes) which are independent from the audio gain ..

Doing as John suggests would give you the possibility of +24

Coming from other NLEs, many people miss that clip gain and automation gain (aka keyframes/rubber banding) are independent of each other. So you have two levels of volume control. Premier Pro CC now has this too, but FCP does not.

You also need to make auto gain visible in the timeline to set keyframes. Use the “hamburger” menu in the lower left corner of the timeline.
