Just curious what the difference is between export and ‘fast’ export when making QTs from Avid. Is fast export just a combination of settings one could set themselves in a custom preset or is it actually something different. I notice it doesn’t seem to be necessary to render a BITC layer when using this preset and that it takes roughly real time which is pretty good. Is it anything special, or just a useful combination of settings?

    Edit: misread —

Fast export is basically Avid exporting out the same format as the project settings. It can re-use rendered elements, etc, to build your quicktime file.
