  avid media composer 4k / 50p / transcoding problems..

  ok heres the deal: we have a new sony f55 camera and my boss mistakenly recorded all his footage in 4k 50p with proxys enabled. we found out that avid doesnt seem to support 50p footage. but we can still link it via AMA but when we wanna transcode it for an offline/online workflow avid gives us an error saying that it cannot be transcode the footage because the project is set to 25p.

  we tried transcoding the footage using the sony content browser but found out that it cannot export 4k footage.

  does anybody here know if there actually is a way to use this footage together with avid. in the end we will need a 4k master and we havent started editing.. so were open to opinions or other workflow solutions..

  maybe somebody knows of a tool which can transcode the XAVC files and just change the framerate without loosing quality by recompressing..

  the workflow we were about to use is edit in avid, relink in davinci and export via final cut.

  Have you tried Resolve to make dailies?
