July 8, 2013 at 7:49 pmI don’t know about 6.5 but I just opened a project in MC 7 and of the 12 bins I had open, 2 would not open in version 6.0.3r – I do believe they both had modified sequences but neither had unusual if any effects used in them. I tried to open on two different computers with MC 6 and neither would open – they are not corrupt as they both still open in MC 7. I went in on the windows level and deleted all traces of files indicating the project was ever open in MC 7, including the .avs file(s).
Perhaps this is just our systems here or just a coincidence. I would do a test project with a simple sequence and see what happens. Here is a very helpful link about bins and MC Versions: – I am obviously not on the latest version of MC 6 – youtube “Media Composer 7 – Opening Bins in Previous Versions – Avid
