Posted by Adam Berch on June 30, 2013 at 3:42 pmHi,
What is the quickest way to Cut a 5 second clip from the end of a timeline on V1 and paste insert it somehere in the middle of the timeline on same Video Track (V1).
Thanks in advance

June 30, 2013 at 5:39 pmActivate the V1 track. Mark the in and out of the clip, either by using the “Mark IN to OUT” button if you want one clip as it already sits in the timeline, or the “Mark IN” and “Mark OUT” buttons if you aren’t copying an exact clip. Press “Alt-X” which will place the marked region in the the source window while deleting it from the current timeline, or “ALT-C” which will copy the marked region into the source window while also leaving it in the timeline. Clear your marks on the record side, place your blue playhead marker where you want the material inserted, and hit V or “INSERT EDIT”

June 30, 2013 at 6:13 pmHI Scott,
Thanks for the info. For me on my Mac when I press Option + Command + C, that is what loads the clip into my source Monitor. I
Is there a way to Map that Keyboard Command (Option + Command + C to a keyboard shortcut so I don’t have to press all three of those buttons to get the clip into the Source Monitor?
Thanks

June 30, 2013 at 7:35 pmI’m at home, not in front of an Avid. But I have a hard time believing that even on a fruit based editor (I only use PCs) that any of those commands are more than a two finger commands.
This link contains shortcuts for both Macs and PC.
