    Hi all,
I’m creating a playable DVD from high resolution footage (1080/59.94) by exporting a quicktime and creating a dvd in iDVD. My question is, when setting field dominance I am choosing lower field because I read that that what is needed for DVDs, but it seems to be causing some field dominance issues. When there is a lot of movement in the shot, I’m getting that venetian blind effect. What am I doing wrong? Can I create and export with “single field” chosen instead? Would that work for a playable DVD?

I need to get this out tonight, so any immediate help is much appreciated!

I tried upper field and got the same result. I’m checking them on a monitor though instead of using a DVD player because I don’t have access to one. Maybe that’s the issue?

COMPUTER monitor? Sorry, Computer Monitors don’t display interlacing properly. If you need to check a DVD, you need a DVD player and TV. If the intention is for the DVD to be played on a computer, you need to deinterlace.

    Yeah, that’s the problem.
