I’m trying to import an h.264 file that is from a dvd, the video is sized 960 x 640, is there a way to immport this into avid and set it up for that size? When I create a project I can only select 720 or 1080. How I can I import the file and edit it at the best resolution possible and export it without losing any original quality?

    Thanks

Avid only works in broadcast frame sizes. And that file is neither. Your options are 1920×1080, 1280×720, 720×486 and 720×480. If the file came from a playable DVD, it should be 720×480.

You could import them with ‘do no resize smaller images’ in the next size up broadcast raster – and do a crop back down to the native size at the end in some other programme (compressor?)… if you really need to keep that size.
