  Audio clips from same master clip automatically being linked together… why??

  Whenever I place different audio clips from the same master audio clip into the timeline they become linked together. Whenever I select, and with any tool, it selects multiple clips. Any idea why this would be occurring?

  Turning off linked selections does work, but it is a workaround. Deselecting the tracks is another workaround, but it bounces right back to all related tracks selected when I reclick the clip. I don’t have the same problem when placing multiple video clips from a master clip. All of that works fine.

  I’m in source/record mode.

  Also, mysteriously, I can’t direct any audio from the source monitor to any track lower than A1 and A2. I can direct the video wherever I want, but not the audio.

  I’m using AVID Media Composer 6.0.1.1 on a 2 x 2.66 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon, 8GB RAM, OSX 10.7.4.
