    Hello,

Please does Media Composer 6 support 32-bit float color precision rendering?
I haven’t found this information anywhere. Also I haven’t found the user manual
for download – the fist thing I’m looking for when interested in a product …
    (AVID should consider that!)

    I’m curious, because FCP-X renders everything in 32bit-float RGB now;
and every filter and effect does actually support it – i simply like that!

In other NLEs I found an inconsistency of color precision. Even if the
the maximum color precision is turned on, then there are still filters and effects
that are 8-bit only and are corrupting the whole FX stack.

    My specific questions are:
    – Do I need to switch Maximum Quality / maximum color precision “On”
or does MC always render at maximum color precision and quality

    – What is the maximum color precision MC does?
    bit-deph, YCbCR or RGB?

    – Is every filter and effect suited for maximum color precision?

    Thank You in prior!
    Best regards,
    Bernhard

MC does 16bit, not 32bit float.

It’s part of the installed files on your hard drive. If you don’t actually have MC installed, you might consider checking out the free trial version for 30 days.

    Thank You,

but before I try a product I enjoy reading the manual!

In my opinion, manuals should be separately downloadable as PDFs.

    Best regards,
    Bernhard

    Hello Daniel,

so MC does 16bit RGB all the time?
Is every single dissolve, filer and effect capable
to be processed at actually 16bit?

    Thank You and best regards,
    Bernhard
