  AVID auto sync

  I’m quasi new to avid and i’m trying to figure out the best way to sync sound. I’ve been using the auto sync feature which seems to be working pretty well. are there any downsides to this method? or better ways to sync?

  AutoSync offers various methods, so it’s hard to comment without knowing what exactly it is you’ve done so far.

  basically i just set an in point to the video and audio at the clap and auto sync them to the in point

  Apart from the time it takes I have had no qualms with AutoSync. I much prefer it to the FCP group clip because it creates sublcips which only last the duration that the audio and video is present but which can easily be trimmed past those boundaries in a sequence. Its also easy to match frame back to your audio or video master clips and timecode is always taken from the orginal source (unlike FCP& which I believe applies the video timecode to both Audio and Video in the group clip).

  Hi Andrew! I know this thread is old but I have a question about it. You say:

  How can I do that? I tried but it didnt work.
