Only Prores 444 during imports and transcodes in MC6?
Is Prores 444 the only option in MC6 when Consolidate/Transcode or an import?
Working with DSLR (H.264) 1080p 23.98 and would love to convert to Prores 422 (NOT HQ).
I did do a fast import of 5D footage that was already converted to Prores 422 with FCP Media Manager (seems to be the only other option that will keep multiple audio tracks intact) and they are identified as Apple Prores (HD 1080p) but I would prefer to do the transcode in MC6.
Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks!

That’s because you have your project setup up as RGB instead of YCbCr in the format settings. Change that you’ll get the rest of the codecs back.

Indeed, Prores 422 is now available via the transcode but the best part is that a 3hr clip being converted from 5D H.264 to Prores 422 with FCP’s Media Manager (only thing I found other than MC to keep multi tracks of audio intact) takes 10 hours on a Mac Pro 12 core with 64 GB RAM. In MC6 it takes 2 hours!
I have 40 hours of footage soon to be 100hrs!

Silly question perhaps but here goes. I was also wondering about the lack of rgb codecs. I shoot alot of DSLR which is RGB colour space os have used the workflow, ama, dnxhd36, edit, relink to ama, transcode to to 185x.
Why is there now only 444 codec for RGB colour space? If you take your RGB in at YcCbr arent you clipping the blacks and whites to 16-235 ? rather than keeping 0-235?
