Hey guys. Am on a Mac Pro 2×2.93GHz Quad core Intel Xeon, OS X 10.6.8, 24 GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5770 and NVIDIA Quadro 4000. I have a Matrox MX 02 LE attached to this Mac. I run FCP 7 and Adobe Production premium CS 5.5 on this MAC.
Am trying to install MC 5.5.3 from the DVDs. Towards the end of the installation, I keep getting this message.
I’ve tried repairing disk permissions, uninstalling the Matrox but nothing seems to work.
    Please help!

You have two graphics cards installed? That might be an issue, or you might have a bad installer. Try downloading the 5.5.3 installer from the Avid website, and you may need to pull a graphics card to get Avid to work.

Wow! Thanks for the prompt reply Mike. Must be early morning for you guys.
I’ll try downloading the installer from Avid’s website first. Don’t really want to pull out a GFX card:-(

I think you’re going to have to. You might get lucky and Avid will simply ignore one of them, but I’m guessing it won’t run.

I’d pull the card first, try to reinstall – if it fails again then I’d download the installer from Avid (it’s a 2GB file so it may take a while).

Tried pulling out both cards (one at a time), removed the matrox card, tried with installer downloaded from Avid’s website, nothing works. Same error message, right at the end. HELP!

    Hi Kannan,
I have the same problem, on a macbook pro that used to run MC5.0.3.
