  • Avid Composer Window Won’t Stay Put when using Option+Control

Posted by Justin Cordes on October 26, 2011 at 8:06 pm

I use the Command (apple) + Option key a lot to snap to edits, but, when I do, on this particular Avid, the Source/Record window OR Composer window changes from the Source/Record to just Record. If it click it again it goes back to normal (the Source & Record both appear).

This is Media Composer 5.0.4.1 on a Mac (2X3 Quad Core Intel Xeon).

Any idea how to stop this from happening?

I have so many shortcuts floating around my head from 4 different NLE packages that I use so I could be wrong, but isn’t the snap function in Avid just holding the command key while dragging?

In order to snap tails you need to hold Option.

the behavior described is a bug. It happens if you just hold option and click your tc track. I can’t recall if it’s been fixed in v5.5.3 or not
