August 10, 2011 at 11:19 pmI’ve heard that they’re working on it now. Apparently Avid do alot of testing before they release an update (unlike some others!). Yes, I would hope that it would be an update to 5.5 that was free.

August 11, 2011 at 12:30 amI would be surprised if it gets approved with v5.5, probably not to v6.
Just my opinion, avid never rushes aproval of o.s.’s because when using avid to make money, you
Want it stable.Scott Cumbo

August 11, 2011 at 4:22 amWhat’s more important? The Mail feature, or Avid working?

August 11, 2011 at 5:45 amOver on the Avid site forum Avid employees have said they are working really hard to get it approved and have hinted it will be a 5.5.3 update for Lion, with no charge. But Lion has been out, what, about 2 weeks? Considering the differences between the beta and the release version its unsurprising that they haven’t got it yet. I don’t see why are so impatient. I remember getting Windows Vista and not being able to get a driver for a midi keyboard I owned for about 6 months. For a midi keyboard! Avid need to approve half a dozen pieces of software and hardware and support for 3rd party hardware.

August 11, 2011 at 8:27 amWhere and when did you pay $3K for MC? If you like keeping your OS to date, it is often recommended to build a separate partition for your Avid install, with an older, approved version of the OS.

August 11, 2011 at 7:02 pmWell, I have a laptop for all my personal things, and then my main MacPro for work. So if I want the kewl new things, I do that on my laptop, and leave my main machine I use to earn a living, alone.
But I use Avid on my laptop too…so I don’t update that either.
