  Can’t Apply Motiion FX to PAL Clips in NTSC Project

  I am working on a NTSC project that has some clips that were originally PAL footage. All of these clips have a blue dot and 25 fps in the name when they are cut into a sequence. When I try to apply a motion effect, the message “effect does not apply” comes up. To work around this I have been exporting sections as qt references and reimport 29.97 qt’s. Is there any other way to work with these clips? This project did not originate on my computer. And I don’t know how the PAL clips were brought into project. In addition the titles are very jagged even very plain fonts. I am selecting “high” in the Video Quality Menu and rendering titles. Any thoughts?

  Those clips have motion adapters applied to them in order to make them play at 100% of real time. If you need to change their speed, enter the motion effects editor and click “promote”. That way, you change the motion adapter to a TimeWarp effect, and you can set the speed any way you like.
