  Media composer vs Kona3

  I’m trying to have Media Composer 5 to display full screen through my Aja Kona3. I don’t think Avid can see my Kona3.
  MacPro3,1 Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2.8 GHz Processors:2- Cores:8- Memory:6 GB
  Raid ARC-1221 – 7 TB – NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT –
  2X EA241WM Resolution 1920x 1200 Aja Kona3 – HD/SDI – JVC DT-V24L3D
  Any help is welcome

  MC will only work with Avid-approved hardware. For MC5.5 that is Mojo, Mojo-SDI, Adrenaline, Adrenaline HD, Nitris DX, Matrox MXO2 Mini (monitoring only), Matrox MXO2 Mini MAX (monitoring only, MAX = Mac-only), AJA Io Express.

  Kona3 and Avid MC won’t work.

  With the Kona LHe I could get the Macintosh desktop as a Full screen video display. The Kona3 won’t give me that possibility. Guess I’ll have to buy some hardware if I want to use Media Composer.

  5.5 of MC starts to use some of the AJA hardware.

  But the Kona cards? nope. (Nor the Black Magic or bluefish cards.) Avid seems to be slowing opening up their communications to non-avid hardware. It’ll be one/two items at a time, and at most a small few that have the greatest flexibility.
