  Transferring User Settings and Workspace layout

  Hi,

  I am just wondering as to how I can transfer my existing user configuration to my laptop in Media Composer?

  I want to try and keep my layout as I am used to having certain buttons in certain places.

  The easiest way is to save them directly – while looking at settings in MC, you can go to your name (drop down) and save your settings (and load them somewhere else).

  But be careful not to copy user settings from one major version of Avid to another (eg from V4 to V5) as this will cause annoying and untraceable little problems. In that case you must re-create settings from scratch.
