Losing Audio Sync Avid to Digibeta
I’m hoping someone can help me out here…I’m about to lose my mind.
We have been outputting to Digibeta(DVW-2000) from Avid Media Composer (Adrenaline) for ages. Recently we have begun to see a problem where the audio sloooowly loses sync. Its a 30 minute program and begins fine but by about 10-12 minutes into the show, sync begins to be lost. There is no break in timecode, there is no audible difference in the audio, its a brand new tape, the sync is fine in Composer. It leads me to believe its a deck issue/tape issue but our engineering staff would like to believe otherwise.
Anyone have any ideas on what would cause this?
This may sound moronic as well but is there anyway something could happen on playback to cause that and then keep it permanently like that on the tape? I’m just trying to figure out anyway I can to resolve this. I’m tired of getting beat up!

What project type? Frame rate? Resolution? Reference?
Does it play in sync when not outputting to tape? Is everything rendered or not?

The entire project is fine in Avid. Everything is rendered and it plays out in sync. It also doesn’t happen on every project. Its here and there. The settings are the same for all projects. This is why it leads me to believe its a deck or tape issue as opposed to an Avid…but I’m starting at the top.

Are you playing 720p out of an NTSC project? Is everything rendered?

Yes on the 720/NTSC and everything is rendered
