  Problems with Effects in Avid

  I have recently upgraded to MC5 and now for some reason a lot of my standard Avid Effects ( picture in picture , Animate etc) are nit working properly. For example With my P in P it will allow me to apply the effect and change curtian parameters ( size, position etc) however it will only allow me to change the SIZE of the boarder I put on ( the feather sider and colour changer are inactive). Similarly with Animate it will allow me apply and animate the mask, but will not let me change the mask opacity or its softness.

  It is worth mentioning that my bcc plug-ins are all working fine.

  I have tried reinstalling everything, as well as many different types of footage and its the same story

  Any Ideas

  have you tried applying a keyframe first?
  most effects transitioned to advanced mode

  Thank you for your response. You are not the first person so suggest this to me, however having tried this it does not seem to help. I have uploaded a screen shot to demonstrate the problem .

  Any more ideas??

  Perhaps try selecting the mask (in Animatte) so the outline is visible and then try adjusting the key frame? It could be that Avid doesn’t know what to apply the value change to unless the specific mask is selected?
