  • PAN on audio tracks not working

Posted by Guy Crossman on October 29, 2010 at 2:25 pm

I’m editing on AVID Media composer adrenaline. I normally pan my commentary track to the middle using the audio mixer. Some of the track refuses to be panned, and stays on one side only. Some Key frames seem to have appeared in the timeline. Have I gone in to some mode that is stopping me from panning the track, and how do I get out of it? thanks for any help Guy

    Hi Guy,
You’ve somehow got yourself into Auto Pan mode.
To get out of it, go into the quick menu (hamburger) at the bottom left of the timeline, go to Audio Data, if you’ve got a tick by the auto pan, unclick that.
If that’s not it, then I don’t know.

    Hi Guy,

You mentioned it was part of the track. Do you have several clips on the track, and if so, be sure auto gain is off on them all. You might want to just hit “none” on the Audio Data option on the hamburger menu in the lower left. You also might try being sure you don’t have any in/out points on your timeline, and maybe even try deleting any key frames.

    Hope this helps,

    Mark
