  Capture in Apple ProRes 422 HQ?

  Is there a way to digitize DV footage as Apple ProRes 422 HQ in Avid Media Composer? (Editor prefers to work with this codec, but I can only digitize with AMC).

  Even if you could…ProRes HQ? For DV footage? Talk about a waste. You gain nothing quality wise by doing that.

  You need FCP and a capture card to do that. No two ways about it.
